First of all, I have to apologize to Terri Kahrs (Pringle Hill Studios) for using her beautiful freebie in a less than respectful way. Sorry for that, Terri, but thanks for the freebie which I promise I will use with the real faces one of these days. I have watched a couple of the many "Real housewives of ...." and, of course, such programs are full of cattiness!! Meeow. Background by Fiddlette. Cats heads by Kubivet. Alterations by me.
I think this little child is a boy. The lace would have us think otherwise but I have photos from old family albums of my own and very small boys were dressed in overblown tunic dresses, quite often with lace attached. Thanks to Rein for the lovely photograph and to the ladies of Art Creations for the challenge. I have recoloured the image and the backgrounds, bird and number tags are from a collaboration digital kit at After Five Designs (by Createwings aka Dawn van der Stoep and Catherine Designs).
Thanks to Kelly from Theme Thursday for a great challenge. The lady is a Flickr-free-to-use image, coloured and altered. The background, circle and butterfly "hat" are by Irene Alexeeva.
My sulphur crested cockatoos have been altered within an inch of their lives. I have overpainted them and given them new legs . The ephemera comes from collage sheets by Lisa's Altered Art, the music was Googled and the lady bird's legs are by Fiddlette of Scrapartist.
I love these beautiful old photos. The couple look like pioneers. The woman's face is thin and worn and weary and she is pitifully thin. She probably lived a life of very hard work. The photo is from Elegia and Itkupilli with bits and pieces of scraps gathered from here and there - some by Lorie Davison at SBG.
The phrenology head is from Carla Gibson at Oscraps (colour added to black and white digital stamp). Chain, spatter, blackbirds and old paper by Sussi M at SBG.
"A woman's work is never done" - at least in the generation I come from where male chauvinism ruled (and still rules)!! So this is my contribution for "Busy"!! Credits go to Lisa's Altered Art for the baby, Kubivet for the slightly anxious cat, Mr Google for a lot of bits and pieces, Irene Alexeeva for watering can and plant.
Solitude is important to me but it seems to come in very small doses! The quote, from Henry David Thoreau, fits me to a tee. Image (greatly altered) is from Suzee Que at Flickr-free-to-use. Background papers by Joanne Brisbois of Oscrap Designs and Fiddlette of Scrapartist.
Thanks to Itkupilli and Elegia for a great new challenge. I have used the photo of the mansion and the word "abandoned". Background by Creativewing Designs and overlay by Lauren Bavin. Image a Flickr-free-to-use, coloured and altered.
The lady is carrying a hockey stick but as she is not dressed for a game I assume she is waiting for her hubby to come home after a night out. I guess this is another game people play!! Image from Suzee Que at Flickr-free-to-use. Background, frame and "shrub" by Lauren Bavin at Digital Scrapbook Place.
Image is from a collage sheet by Maya at Scrapbookgraphics (altered and coloured). Clock and embellishment and overlays by Lauren Bavin at Digital Scrapbook Place.
Thanks to the lovely ladies at ACF for this week's challenge - and giving us the beautiful image and painted background. The image has been coloured and I have used an overlay and berries by Lauren Bavin at Digital Scrapbook Place.
Ahh, those were the days in the dim, dark past!! The images are from Lunagirl Collage and the balloons, butterfly and sparkle are by Irene Alexeeva at Scraporchard. I used an overlay by Lauren Bavin.
What seems like weeks ago,Ms Terri Kahrs offered the above freebie to her friends. I have been waiting for a chance to use it ever since. My impatience level must have been high because I now see that it was posted on her blog less than a week ago. Everyone with experience of babies and toddlers knows that their output of dribble far outweighs their size so the picture caused the idea to take shape in my weird brain. So it's a big thankyou to Terri. The image has been coloured and altered a little. The umbrella, boots and frog are from Kay Hadfield and the background is by Fiddlette.
The frame and frost are by Maya a Scrapbookgraphics, the "snow" by Ruth Davis at E-scape and Scrap. The image is a Flickr-free-to-use, coloured and re-dressed.
Nowadays, keeping up with the Joneses means spending money that isn't there to buy "label" clothes. I had to smile when I saw today's image because it seems that keeping up with the Joneses a hundred years ago meant throwing layer upon layer, silly hats, froth and bubble at some poor unsuspecting child!! Therefore, I was forced to make a few changes just to make her feel better, although she looks as happy as the cat!
The image is from "Take a Break" at Flickr (thanks to the lovely ladies at ACF for sending us the link). The background is by Lorie Davison at SBG and the metal seat is by Irene Alexeeva at Scraporchard. Cat Googled.
