I think this little child is a boy. The lace would have us think otherwise but I have photos from old family albums of my own and very small boys were dressed in overblown tunic dresses, quite often with lace attached.

Because of the hat and the horse, I thought it was a boy, but it had all the potential of being a girl, so I did a change of gender.
