Sometimes I use images from my family albums in my artwork. The person who has featured most is my Uncle(by marriage) Paul. He looks so arrogant and self-satisfied that he needs to be taken down a peg or two. (The couple on the left are my parents, the bride is my aunt and my (real) uncle is to the right).
I hope BOOTS qualify as SHOES. They were Googled as was the skyscape. The balloons were painted in artrage, the rope comes from one of my software programs and the hat and bow tie are by Robyn England.
What a great picture, Marie! I absolutely think Uncle Paul has been taken down a notch or two! What boots!!! Makes me feel sorry for him! Great art, lots of fun!
ReplyDeletethis is delightful and very clever. wow i love those boots! xo
ReplyDeleteBrilliant Marie!!
ReplyDeleteGreat piece and what a lovely photo too!!
Jayne :-)
I DON'T feel sorry for him, in fact, he's much more fun now (maybe he wouldn't approve the boots :))
ReplyDeleteThis put a big smile on my face. Everyone needs an uncle like that!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love your uncle paul with his red boots and hat! Imaginative, original, clever and colored piece of art!

ReplyDeleteSomewhere Uncle Paul is rolling over in his cairn!! Gloriously funny, Marie, and (as always) brilliantly done!
ReplyDeleteWell, I love to see family brought back to life!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is so darn charming!!!
I think this is my new favorite of your art!!!!
(which I have MANY OF!!)
I THINK I COMMENTED ON YOUR MEN already, but seeing it again I need to add fabulous piece!!!!!
You've brightened my day again, Marie, with your frivolity, poor uncle, he doesn't appear to find it funny, awesome art!
ReplyDeleteI suppose men sat down in wedding photos in the 'old days' so the bride could show off her gown, it always amuses me, Uncle looks so smug!!
OMG this is funny. I hope to get back into this now that my Christmas cards are done and I will address them this weekend. My shopping was done a while ago.
ReplyDeleteHe looks SO comfortable in the red boots... perhaps he needed to have them many years ago.... great stuff!
ReplyDeleteThis absolutely takes first prize, Marie. I just cannot stop laughing at this one. Love your take on the real life uncle. Need I say more? Just love this shoe art and the story you tell. I hope you work on a book of Memoirs, you certainly have a way with words.
ReplyDeleteGreat, love hit boots! :0)
ReplyDeleteMarie, you are right: your uncle Umberto does look a lot more sympathetic than your uncle Paul! Your story about this wonderful photo made me look at your collage with new eyes. Great work!
ReplyDeleteA fantastic family photo and I just love what you've done Marie. I just love that hat! You really are brilliant. Hugs June xx
ReplyDeleteWonderful! Uncle Paul looks great with his new boots...
ReplyDeleteOooh I love his kinky red boots. Fabulous piece...........
ReplyDeleteWell, I laughed out loud at Uncle Umberto in his reckless ensemble!
ReplyDeleteHow great to have such a beautiful photo to work with. You're right he does look like he is in need of some bright red boots!
This is fabulous Marie, just what Uncle Paul needed x
ReplyDeleteYour uncle (by marriage) makes me laugh each time I see him Marie and today he's outdone himself with those fabulous red boots, outlandish hat and bow tie. If only the rest of his family could see how he turned out!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the glimpse of your lovely family photo too my friend.
Thanks for the smile on my face. Great digital work. Love hte red boots.
ReplyDeleteHe looks right at home in his new gear, Marie, and much happier than in the original. Brilliant!
ReplyDeleteBonsoir Marie !
ReplyDeleteJ'ai bien ri en découvrant votre collage , vu comme vous avez arragé votre pauvre oncle !
Bien utiles les photos de famille!
Amitiés Marylise
This makes me laugh and this is really good. So colorful and fun! Great work!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun, Marie! He is coordinated with his bowtie and boots :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great and fun piece Marie;o)
ReplyDeleteMarie, as much as I enjoyed seeing Uncle Paul in his red boots and head in the clouds, I simply adored looking at the unadulterated wedding photo. What a treasure that is! My own parents eloped and so no photo for their wedding. I love the wedding dress and the humongous bouquet of flowers! And your mom as maid of honor looks so young and pretty. The photo is in such excellent condition. Wow!
ReplyDeleteMy shoes are on my blog, now. Thanks for the comments.
ReplyDeleteHi Marie, it's been a while since I visited your blog. But it was a pleasure again. As always your art gives me a big smile: it's funny and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGreat work for the shoe challenge. I get a kick out of you using your uncles photo.
