The Three Muses Challenge - "OH, MAN!"

I think the style here is collages upon collages. Yes, I got carried away! I began by separately collaging each man, starting with a head and then using bits and pieces (and some drawing) to create the bodies. Then I began to see them as lonely pioneers, all dressed up in their Sunday best, perhaps waiting for the mail order bride train (or coach) to arrive. The men's heads come from a collage sheet by Land of Nod at Flickr. The clothes were cut from papers by Irene Alexeeva at Scraporchard. The background ephemera is from Paula Kettering at Scrapartist.

Collage Obsessions Challenge - Into The Mist

Indigenous people have suffered from the onrush of "civilization". Their traditional way of life has disappeared. Their cultures have been lost. The sad face on the man in the picture inspired me to think deeply about this subject, hence the barbed wire and the sea of words, just words around the picture, and the cave paintings which tell of better days. The man looks like a native American but the story has been repeated all over the world, especially in Australia.

I am a bit of a "bah humbug" when it comes to Valentine's Day so my postcard is just a wee bit cynical (well very cynical). Thanks to Kelly for a nice challenge. To those of you who are waiting impatiently for the first signs of spring, we, in the Southern Hemisphere, are hanging out for autumn which is almost like a second spring to us. All plant life gets a real hammering during the long hot summer but, in autumn, when we might get a few showers and it is much cooler, the garden greens up, the roses especially flower profusely and all is well with the world.

PS - This collage is NOT autobiographical!! The only longing I do is wish I had listened to my dear old Dad who told me NOT to do it (get married that is).
