TGIF - Tears
(Looks much better when enlarged!)
This picture is one taken of my aunt, age 12. She was orphaned at two and her life was not an easy one. I imagine that she shed lots of "secret tears" because her sadness showed on her face.
The background is by Berna Datema and the paper flowers by Birgit Kerr. The quote is by Antoine Saint-Exupery (from "The Little Prince")

Theme Thursday - 4 x 4's - Teachers
Thanks for the challenge. I found the beautiful image on Flickr free to use and have been waiting for an opportunity to use it. She reminds me of old-fashioned stereotypes of prim school teachers so I have given her a new identity.
The background paper is by Vera Lim and the ephemera and slate are from Fabella Designs.

Sunday Postcard - Fashion
Thanks to the "Postcard Ladies" for inviting me to host this week's Sunday Postcard.
The image is from a collage sheet by Maya at Scrapbookgraphics. The background, fish and bubbles are by Lorie Davison also of SBG. I have coloured the black and white image and added some glittery overpainting (in ArtRage painting).

The Three Muses Challenge - Incredible Journey
Thanks to Ann for her great challenge. My incredible journey is about chasing a dream. The image is by Lorie Davison (Scrapbookgraphics). It was been altered by adding a new head of hair painted in ArtRage. Bits and pieces in the background are also by Lorie D and the butterfly is from JenU Designs.

Mixed Media Monday -Charming Junk
Thanks for the challenge. It was a lot of fun finding bits and pieces to build my lady. Picture looks much better enlarged to see the details. I started off with just a face and added (digital) scraps - torn cardboard for dress, bits of lace and ribbon, silk rose for hat. Dried roses by Trish Jones, clock by Kubivet, shoes by Lorie Davison.
Postcard Sunday - Vintage Children
Thanks to Gayle for the great challenge (and her lovely sample picture). This is a collage made from various bits and pieces. The girl (altered and coloured) is a Flickr free image. The baby (altered) is from a collage sheet by Lisa's Altered Art. The chair is by Christina Renee. The button background, slate and other bits and pieces are by Fabella Designs.

The Three Muses Challenge - Word Salad
Thanks to Bev for her beautiful and very funny inspirational piece for this week's challenge.
The two images in my picture are from Flickr free and the background is by Madame Mim.
The quote is from an old Irish saying. I love old Irish sayings as my heritage is 100% Irish and the old people really did come up with such pearls of wisdom - some which didn't make a lick of sense and some that were funny and had a ring of truth.

Sunday Postcard - Fabric
I am not sure if digital "fabric" is acceptable this week but here goes anyway. I took one piece of lace which I copied many times over and "built" a dress. The edging, lace and bow are by Jenu Designs. I have had the image on my files for many years and can't remember where I got it from. (Enlarge picture to see beautiful detail in the lace).

Art Creations Friday - Background
Thank God it's Friday - Red flowers
Thanks for the great challenge. I never waste anything. I usually take my camera with me when I am gardening so that I don't miss a special shot - be it a bird or a rose in full bloom. This deep red rose was a beauty and I have altered it a little to enhance the colour and lines and this time I have used it to design a ball gown. So this picture consists of one rose multiplied by a lot, a collage image from Maya of SBG and background and blingy "curtain" by After Five Designs.

The Three Muses Challenge - Surreal
I couldn't resist showing this contrast between "surreals" - one a fine feathered female and the other a Miss Plane Jane in vintage style.
In the first picture , I used a background and feathers (cut and pasted) by Creative Wing Designs, image is a Kubivet freebie, man a Flickr free image and background paper used to build birdhouse by Irene Alexeeva.
In the second, a much simpler list of credits. Image by Outsider-Artists, typewriter keys by Carla Gibson. Background and umbrella Googled.

Sunday Postcard - Nests - "Empty Nester"
Thanks for the great challenge. My picture is a tribute to the "empty nesters" who suddenly find themselves alone after their children have gone. The image is from a Flickr Free image website (submitted by Suzee Que), the nest is by Sausan, the wings by Kubivet and the background by Create Wings Designs.
