This collage was created in an ATC template which has been enlarged on the blog page. 

The beautiful images are from Art Creations Friday which sadly no longer exists.  They were softly coloured.

The background paper is by Lorie Davison and the word overlays and frame are by Lauren Bavin.

Three Muses Challenge - Torso Template

I couldn't resist creating two completely different takes on the torso challenge.
In the first black and white piece I used a template recommended by Ann (Taluula) and filled it with doodles (by SherrieJD at Scrapbookgraphics) and adding a face by me.  Mask, ribbons and beads by Irene Alexeeva at Scraporchard.  The second template was Googled and filled with our Mona (who really gets around) and overlays by Berna Datema (SBG).

Take a Word Challenge - Coffee

I enjoy a cup of coffee occasionally but have to admit that my first drink of choice is tea!  The two ladies come Flickr-free-to-use images.  The posters are from Google Images.

Three Muses Challenge - Musical Instruments

Who said silliness and musical instruments don't go together?

I used two images from Graphics Fairy, altered and added to.  The double bass was Googled, the floor was made from an Irene Alexeeva background and the music has been in my stash for a long time.

(Kubivet has not added to her collection since 2009 and I am not sure if it is possible to download from her old website).

I know, I know!  This picture makes no sense but I love going off on flights of fancy once in a while as did Bertie Blackbird who fancied himself as a suave man about town.  (I hope he qualifies as an animal).
The face is a Flickr free to use image, the blackbird was Googled and other background pieces come from Christina Renee and Lorie Davison.

Collage Obsession - Dance

The ballerina (coloured) is from E.vint.com.  The background and some of the sparkles are from Lorie Davison and the tulle and top sparkles from Irene Alexeeva.

Take a Word Challenge - Fish!

Quite a few years ago, my great friend, Bev, introduced me to the idea of digital art.  Neither of us really knew what we were doing.  We didn't know how to access ephemera and elements and I don't think Google Images existed.  We were forced to create pictures using our wits and cunning.  Cutting and pasting became our best friends.  As with the lady above, we found that, yes, we could build an image with a face, one fish and a picture of old boots (as above).  It was a great apprenticeship and we are still using our old skills today.  Thankyou, Bev.  We often felt like giving up but somehow we dragged each other into the 21st century!!
So, credit for the background goes to Lorie Davison.  The face was drawn by me and the lady is dressed in cutouts from one tropical fish.  The boots were Googled.

Sunday Postcard Art - Violets

"Sweet Vi-oh-lets" is an old song with play-on-word lyrics that are very funny.  It was originally sung by Dinah Shore.  I have included the chorus only because the song goes on forever.  A real moldy oldy.
The lady covered all over in violets is my own creation.  The violets and background were Googled.

A happy New Year to all!!  We see challenges come and go, perhaps because of lack of support or the weariness of those who run them.  We are so fortunate at Take a Word and also at the Three Muses that we have such wonderful, supportive and talented members who keep us going with renewed energy each week.  A BIG THANKYOU!!

Well, Sadie is certainly in print if not in the news!!  Sadie's head was originally a photo of a silent movie star on Google.  Her body is made from a template created by Maya at Scrapbookgraphics.  The backgrounds are also by Maya.
