The Three Muses Challenge - Madame Snail-Slayer

We are in our last month of winter in the Southern Hemisphere.  Snails love this time of year because everything is green and moist and spring flowers are starting to bloom.  I would love to have the power to rid the world of SNAILS!!
The background is from Lorie Davison, the snail image Googled.  The lady is actually from two pictures (one upper, one lower) which I have had in my stash for many years.

Take a Word Challenge - Males/Men

This week at Take a Word the challenge is to create art around males/men.  This man is undergoing a midlife crisis.  I found him on Finecrafted Designs and altered him to add the pink stockings and ballet shoes. Other bits and pieces are from Tumblefish.

Sunday Postcard Art - Tattoo

This week at SPA the theme is TATTOO.  I found an (ahem) bare-skinned lady and covered her all over with a floral tattoo.  The background and effects are from Anna Aspnes. Shoes by me and altered face and body from e-vint.com

Collage Obsession Challenge Mythical Creature - Mermaid

Thanks to the ladies at Collage Obsessions for the background and the banner.  I have chosen a mermaid as my mythical creature.  She is a mixture of bits and pieces - painted head by me, Googled shells and a tail which I have altered.  The brushes in the background are by Anna Aspnes. The Three Muses Challenge - Backgrounds with Texts

This week at the Muses the theme is "backgrounds with Texts".  I love using texts in my artwork. The image was a pen and ink, black and white drawing from Graphics Fairy.  I have coloured it with digital water colours and added a flourish or two.  The background is a scanned page from an old dictionary of mine.  I have re-arranged the columns for more interest.

The Three Muses Challenge - Birds of a Feather

My feathered friend is a "kookaburra" or giant kingfisher.  They abound in my neighbourhood and, even if we don't always see them, we hear their loud laughter from miles away.  Their name is from the Australian aboriginal people who have taken the sound of the laughter (koo koo koo kaa kaa kaa) and made a word from it.

The Three Muses Challenge - WEATHER

For obvious reasons I am calling this picture "Merry Pop-in".  Merry is all my own work.  Clouds and rain are from my software.
