Happy New Year to all!

MMM- What I most liked doing with my art in 2008

Nothing comes close to what I most liked doing with my "art" in 2008 than finding the Land of Blog challenges and all the friendly and generous people there.
Central picture and text by me (digital crayon drawing using ArtRage software). Frame by Sausan.

Sunday Postcard - Wheeling in the New Year

There is a lot of gloom and doom around and it is to be hoped 2009 will be a better year than this past one. Image of baby from Lisa's Altered Art, papers by Berna Datema at SBG.

Thursday Theme - Tags

I know just how this lady feels .... most of us eat too much at Christmas time!
Background by SussiM. Image from a Botero painting (greatly altered).

Artarazzi Digital Art Challenge -Like Fish out of Water

Vron has challenged us with a photo of a fish and asked us to do our darndest with it. I have taken the fish out of their watery element and placed them canoodling in the park. I did use two or three filters to improve the colour of the fishies. Background by Lorie Davison SBG, Blue flowers by Dawn Inskip and seat by SussieM SBG. (Take a look at the enlarged version to catch the detail).

Sunday Postcard - Christmas Angel

A peaceful and happy Christmas to one and all and best wishes for a prosperous 2009.

The image is a freebie from Outsider-Artists, the gold lettering from Flergs at SBG and the wings and lights from SussieM at SBG.

Art Creations Friday - Couple

I gave the loving couple a nice, new, sunny room and used my software tools to improve colour and definition. The image of the couple is a lovely freebie from Hermine. (Thankyou Hermine!)

My Mad Hatter is an original, painted by me. The clock and background papers are by Irene Alexeeva and the teaset is by Berna Datema.

Theme Thursday - Green and Brown

For this challenge I took a beautiful sepia image by Outsider-Artists (freebie) and colorised it. The roses come from a photo I took of cream blooms which I have digitally tinged pale green and then digitally painted the edges a darker green. The background is a paper from Flergs at Scrapbookgraphics.

Arty Girlz Tuesday - Something small

For something small, I have created this ATC. The image is from a collage sheet by Luna Girl, the window a freebie from Kubivet and the background painted by me.

Think Monday Think ATC - Lamp

What a nice challenge! The little girl is from Lisa's Altered Art and the background and lamp is by Lorie Davison SBG

Mixed Media Monday - Gold

I think I went a bit mad with gold! The lady is from a collage sheet by Maya at Scrapbookgraphics, the background was painted by me, the tree, angel and bell are by Kubivet (freebies), the gold letters by Flergs at SBG and the gold overlay edging by Irene Alexeeva.

Art on the Dark Side Challenge - Masks

Having fallen into the world of digital art through a great website "Digital Art Quirks", I have learned to take an out-of-the-frame approach to challenges. This may not look dark, but it makes me think of children's Christmas gifts which invariably come in boxes with the pieces wired or nailed down so tight that it takes hours to set them all free. It brings out a very dark side in me!! And I am only the Grandma. So my paper doll is a captive in a dark box, even though she is dressed for a party.

Background and "cuffs" by Lorie Davison, Scrapbookgraphics; shadow box by Maya of SBG; Feathers by Kubivet (freebie) and doll painted by me. I hope it qualifies! Click on image to enlarge for detail.

Sunday Post Card - Bright Colours

Hope these colours are bright enough!! A fun challenge. Bathing beauty from Tangie Baxter and background papers by Berna Datema at Scrapbookgraphics.

Artarazzi Challenge - Hands of children

Thanks to Vron for the great challenge. The background is by Jofia Devoe and the Swirly Stars by Ztampf. Journal strips (altered) - Flergs, Scrapbookgraphics. Girl (altered and re-dressed originally from a small postage stamp by Katie Pertiet at Designer Digitals).

The sphere was made from the background in PhotoImpact12.

The frame is from my software.

Art Creations Friday - Blue Lady

What a beautiful picture!! Thanks so much to the ladies who challenge us on Fridays for the challenge and for adding to our stock of gorgeous ladies.
Background by Flergs and overlay by Berna Datema, both of Scrapbookgraphics.
Lady colorised. It is worth enlarging the picture to see the detail in the overlay!

A Moo or Two - Christmas

Nice challenge. I was inspired by receiving a freebie from Irene Alexeeva -lovely glass globes. I Googled the pictures to fill the globes and added a background by SussiM.

Theme Thursday - Circus

Thanks for the challenging challenge, Kelly!

Images mostly Googled. Background, pennant and words by Irene Alexeeva.

Simply Skinnies - Party

This is my take on the Skinnies Challenge. Digitally painted in ArtRage software.

I am sure there are a lot of people who enjoy digital art out there. It is just a matter of finding them!! You have a few new friends who will advertise your skinnies challenge and, hopefully, after the New Year it will pick up.
