Mixed Media Monday - Easter

Just a simple Easter greeting. I have done a few with eggs and bunnies and the child's face is so beautiful it needs little else to convey a message. Image - free to use.

Gothic Arches - Open Theme

I love this image which was a rather dark black and white photo when I first saw it. I colorised it and added a few more digital processes and was pleased with the result. The lady seems to be pondering on decisions she has to make.
The arched window is by Irene Alexeeva, the flowers by Alana McCarthy.

Sunday Postcard - Easter Theme

Easter Greetings to all. Image is from a collage sheet by Maya at SBG. Other bits and pieces "found" (Googled etc).

Gothic Arches - Open Challenge - Vintage Swinger

Thanks for the open challenge. It was a chance for me to do some painting. The original picture was a small image in a retro advertisement which I have overpainted to match the scarf on the head of a copyright free image I found on the web. I think she is having a swinging good time being joined to a body after languishing just as a head for so long.

Mixed Media Monday - Wings

My good friend Bev is hosting a challenge at Digital Art Quirks - altered form of transportation, map and quote. It occurred to me that it fits into Monday's Mixed Media challenge so I hope I will be forgiven for posting it in two places. It is the first time I have done this. The background and motorcycle (altered) are by Lorie Davison at SBG. The heads (altered) are from Graphics Fairy. The quote is by George Winters (Quote Garden). The wings and ribbon streamers are by Irene Alexeeva at Scraporchard.

Sunday Postcard - Life is Good

Well, I couldn't go further for inspiration for a "life is good" theme than "Everything's Coming Up Roses" from the musical, "Gypsy.
The roses are my own photos. The face and body was painted by me but I have to admit that the eyes were Googled so are slightly more human than the rest of the lady. The shoes are by Irene Alexeeva. The gold alphabet is by Ina's Scrapart.
Great challenge!

Art Creations Friday - Misunderstood

Thanks for the great challenge. Image from the ladies at Art Creations Friday.

A Moo or Two - Yesterday

My mother was born in 1898 and this photo was taken when she was 18 in 1916. She had six children and I was the big surprise package, arriving in the early 1940's when she had reached her mid-forties. Sadly, I have only short memories of the yesterdays I shared with my Mum who died when I was in my early teens. When I think of "Yesterday", I always think of her.

Nice challenge. My "Oriental" is an ATC. I started with a sepia drawing which I have overpainted and I added a Googled haiku (don't have the translation). The background is by Lie Phung and the bird cage by Fiddlette.

Artarazzi - Exotic Woman

When I saw this exotic lady, I knew she just had to have an exotic frame. I coloured her face slightly and used a lighting effect to highlight it (the face). I already had the photo on my files having downloaded it from Outsider-Artists (a freebie) so I will credit them. The background and elements are from freebies by Irene Alexeeva.
