This week at Take a Word the theme is SEWING. The background pattern was Googled. The lady sewing is from Graphics Fairy. I converted it into a Photoshop Elements semi-transparent brush and then coloured it.
If you read the small print you will see mention of a "mantua maker" which is the old fashioned description of a dress maker. This is not an actual pattern created for Marie Antoinette. Apparently, it has been designed for mothers to make a fancy dress costume for their daughters.
Hope she will not sew her own wore clothes by the way, otherwise she would have a problem, when she wants to stand up!

ReplyDeleteA beauty to look at, and an English lesson to boot. Mantua maker is a new word to me. Thanks for both -- the lesson and the beauty!
