In case the "blurb" above can't be seen properly, here it is again:
I admit it! I wear aprons. I make them myself because I need a voluminous pocket. I carry around things that might be useful such as a length of string, a tube of glue, a pen, scissors, clothes pegs (pins), a pocket knife. I use my pocket when cleaning. It becomes a receptacle for balls of fluff, dried leaves, bottle tops, torn envelopes, other people's trash. I sometimes keep a small radio in my pocket to keep up with the news. I always carry my portable phone which is old-fashioned and weighs a ton.
My pocket has other uses. It is a source of entertainment for my small grandson who loves to examine its contents, especially as I have been known to hide chocolate frogs (wrapped) in there. I love my voluminous pockets.
An Ozstuffe Original.
I love your dirty secret! Besides, grandma is sooo sweet!
ReplyDeletegiggle giggle!, fun!!!
ReplyDeletechocolate frogs! Ceep them warm! Herzlich Pippa
ReplyDeleteI find you as a very practical and at same time friendly and humorous person.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this morning's joy ;))
I share your quirk, too, Marie, I MUST wear an apron when cleaning and cooking, and yes they have big pockets but usually stuffed with tissues!! A prize piece, Marie, this has been a fun challenge to participate in.
ReplyDeleteI love your apron story, Marie In my younger married days, I used to wear an apron when cooking on holidays, but that's in the long ago. Your grandchildren must find your apron a magical warehouse of mysterious things. I love your original art, and, as always, admire your skill with the mouse and Art Rage! You rock, my friend!
ReplyDeleteI love this it made me laugh at the interesting quirks we have for who knows why...I am the total opposite of you I hate be weighed down with all the manusha of life that I "might" need and prefer to wing it. I don't even carry a handbag, just my wallet & phone. The cute and masterful way you have expressed your wonderful quirky self is just delightful...you sound like a fabulous grandma I'm sure your apron will be a family legend for many years to come.

ReplyDeletegreat work.
What a lovely habit Marie, an each-time-new-and-mysterious-and-full-of-curiosities world to be explored by your kids just at hand.
ReplyDeleteAnd a very useful way to wear something sympathetic! :)
I love your quirkyness and your grand ma' drawing too!
Thank for sharing dear Marie.
Thank you the big, big smile, Marie, and if I ever meet you I shall insist on a rummage in search of something quirky. I took to wearing aprons when I retired from work, but I never seem to use the pocket.
