It's a bit hard to accept that photos of me are now VINTAGE. This one was taken on my 21st birthday when I was emerging into adulthood (we were late bloomers in those days). My bouffant hairdo screams the Sixties. I didn't have a line on my face and now my ten year old grandson asks me "what are those pleats in your neck?" Over fifty years ago! I can't believe it. My choice of partner was a disaster, my marriage a joke. There are pluses and minuses but I guess the pluses have won because my three children and four grandchildren are a joy to me.
The background, edge pieces and ferns are from Lorie Davison at Scrapbookgraphics - one of the first digital kits I bought years ago.
I totally adore this picture and your attitude. I was a disciple of the Sandra Dee pouf!!! How many rollers could I fit on my head! What a fresh innocent time!
ReplyDeleteWe had fun didn't we!
This is such a beautiful photo, Marie. I'm glad your children and grandchildren are such a source of happiness for you!

Can't wait to begin working on something for this challenge! Your art for the theme is very heartwarming! Lovely as always!
ReplyDeleteI love this wonderful photo of beautiful 21 year old you! Beautifully done, Marie. Sorry I have nothing for this challenge, since I just got back from a long weekend in Illinois indulging in my own nostalgia, visiting places from my childhood. If my trip had been a week earlier, I'd have had lots of fodder for nostalgia, for sure!
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice to see your 21 year old self, Marie, (you were quite a looker!) and to hear your thoughts on how things might have been. Your grandson's comment reminds me of my own son's, when at least 30 years ago, he asked if I was going to die soon since I had some 'crinkly lines' on my neck. Hee hee.
