I have created two pictures this week, both in the grunge/print theme but with subtle differences. Here I have used cut and pasted newsprint background with film strip by Joanne Brisebois, googled photo of Charlie Chaplin converted into a digital stamp with lots of grungy brushes.
Here I scanned a page from an old dictionary, added some grunge and made an altered image from an old photo and converted a ballerina picture into a silhouette.
Like the effect of the black against the sepia, Marie, perfect images , love them both!
ReplyDeleteTerrific take on the grunge background, Marie! Love both pieces of art...kudos!
ReplyDeleteThey are stupendous Marie!
ReplyDeleteI take my hat off to you! xx
These are superb, Marie, fabulous and true interpretations of the theme. The Chaplin one is a masterpiece of composition and I like all the dance references in the second, both in text and images. And I love all the grungy splashes of coffee and black stains.
ReplyDeleteboth are excellent!! and i liked the words on the second one so much... i think i´m also wearing the wrong shoes for dancing;)
ReplyDeleteI swear no one does backgrounds like you Marie you always combine the perfect details and add just the right touch...wonderful work as always.
ReplyDeleteThere is a certain elegance about these, yet they are full of emotion. Bravo, Marie!
ReplyDeleteGreat grunge pieces, Marie...you do it all from elegant to grunge! Love seeing your art!
ReplyDeleteMarie your grunge pieces are fantastic, Love Charlie Chaplin and the sepia background, yes with these shoes she can't dance ballet.
ReplyDeleteAnni
Great grunge art, Marie. Charlie never looked so good, though your ballet dancer looks a little sorry because you gave her the wrong shoes! Wicked!
ReplyDeleteThese are both so striking. Blessings!
