Art Creations Friday - Strong hands, soft heart.

I never cease to be blown away by the choices made by the ladies at Art Creations for our Friday challenge. This is a most beautiful photo and the first thing I noticed were the strong hands. The lady is frail and old but her hands appear to be so powerful. I imagine that she has lived a very tough life on a farm with little time for anything but hard work. I have placed her, leaning on a rusty gate, dreaming about what might have been. I hope there were joys for her. There is a lovely quote by Mark Twain "Wrinkles should merely indicate where smiles have been". I hope this is true for her.
Thanks so much for this wonderful challenge. (Background stockphoto by Jen Ulasiewicz. Photograph of old lady from Art Creations Friday).

  4. Well, you've given her a farm home and a story, Marie! Beautifully done. You're quite right about her hands. They look almost male, don't they?

  8. I love your take on this challenge, and the emotion you put with her. I thought of her working her butt off all these years...then put a different spin on it.
