Mixed Media Monday - Vintage Children

I know the exact vintage of this child. I cannot tell a lie. It's me, It is I, c'est moi!! It's a bit sad to admit that one is VINTAGE (circa early 1940's, age 15 months). I was wearing a bib then and I am approaching the age where I might be wearing a bib again!! Yikes.
The background is by Phuong at Scrapbookgraphics. The bird and edging are by Lauren Bavin at Digital Scrapbook Place. Photo from my own family album.

  1. Your bib comment cracked me up, Marie! That being said, vintage YOU is now very contemporary and oh, so delightful and darling! This would make a wonderful keepsake for your family. Hugs, Terri xoxo

  2. This is so beautiful, all the layers and warm tones... heavenly! I laughed out loud (again!) when I saw that bit about the bibs! I am dreading old age, because I can't imagine anything much worse than my DD assuming responsibility for me - I shall be begging to go into a home! Lol! She strikes me as a vengeful soul (already!) and will possibly kill me with kindness! =)

  3. Knowing you as I do (well over cyber space anyway) there is no way you will be having a bib anytime soon, but you made me laugh when I read that. This wonderful picture (and it is wonderful) will become a fabulous heritage piece for the energetic Miss 'I' who I suspect is quite like her Grandma!

  4. I think this has to be one of your most wonderful creations, Marie! Quite the beautiful child you were...and still are! Somehow I don't see you ever wearing a bib, what a chuckle I got from your comment! Making them maybe, but not wearing them...unless you want to make a particular fashion statement! :o) But the layers of this piece are beautiful! Bravo, Marie, Bravo! LynnF

  8. Oh, Marie - this is a stunning piece of art - I might need a bib drooling over it, LOL! Hmmm - I hadn't thought of my baby photos as being vintage - I must bust them out. My sisters ones are even more vintage than mine, evil grin! Diane

  11. Marie, what a gorgeous child you were! The piece you have produced using the photo is indeed beautiful and would make a great family heirloom. That said, I really had to laugh about the bib. I help out as a crafts volunteer at a local nursing home and yes, they do have bibs. Ironically, I'm older than most of the residents and I think older than you. (I started first grade in '40). Great use of the picture. I hope to do this challenge, but tomorrow (Monday) is going to be a zoo around here, so I may not make it. Also, I love the gorgeous flowers around the edges.

  12. You were a little sweetie, Marie...such a beautiful little girl but I don't think you are vintage!! Love the dribble bib, but I hope you are not dribbling yet! lol. The background you created is so beautiful as well...excellent in every way.
