The Three Muses - Wings on Things

I created two pictures for this week's challenge at the Three Muses and decided to go with the butterfly lady. This was my second choice, a collage. The beautiful little girl is from Art-e-ology, Flickr-free-to-use-images (coloured). The wings and floor paper are by Irene Alexeeva. Everything else is from a collaboration kit by Catherine Designs of After Five Designs and Dawn van der Stoep/Create Wings at

Thank God it's Friday - Banners/pennants

There is a story to my banner. In mediaeval times a young woman would have no portrait to remember her loved one when he was away at the wars. She would have had to make do with a stylised banner, faded with age.
Background papers by Irene Alexeeva, image a Suzee Que free to use photo on Flickr, other elements my Tangie Baxter/de Crow Designs.

Mixed Media Monday - Stars

Thanks for the challenge. The image (coloured) is from Suzee Que at Flickr (free to use).
The background is by Lorie Davison of Scrapbookgraphics. The word frame is from my computer software.

Sunday Postcard - Glamour Girls

My Glamour "Girl" is Dame Edna Everage, famous Australian entertainer. Edna is really Barry Humphries. People who go to Edna's shows do so at their peril.

Edna's face was Googled. The body is a Suzee Que Flickr free-to-use image (coloured from original black and white). The background is by Madame Mim of Catscrap and the seat by Christina Renee Designs. Folded ribbon by Tangie Baxter.

Theme Thursday - Orange

Thanks to Kelly for a great challenge.

Another sad but untrue story. Image of man is from Flickr-free-to-use - greatly altered with enlarged head and painted black and white. Background by Fiddlette and other bits and pieces.

The Three Muses Challenge 10 - Hats

Thanks to Ann for her deliciously surreal take on this week's theme.

No butterfly was hurt in the creation of my picture. The image, thanks to Suzee Que, is a Flickr-free-to-use. The background is by Fiddlette at Scrapartist. The butterflies were Googled.

Monday Mixed Media - Blue and Green

The image is a "Flickr free-to-use" which has been coloured and altered. The digital stamp is by Katie Pertiet.

Sunday Postcard - Nursery Rhymes

I may have my nursery rhyme wires crossed here. This rhyme is purportedly about Queen Elizabeth the first who, as we know, was prone to over-dressing. I think the Googled picture of lady upon a white horse is Lady Godiva. I added a filmy blue wrap for modesty!

Background is by Lorie Davison and scroll by Irene Alexeeva.

Thank God it's Friday - Pens and Brushes

I had some fun with this one. I used an image from Terri Kahrs. Well, at least his head and hands. The rest was painted by me with boots by Robyn England. The background is by Madame Mim.

Theme Thursday - Purple

A sad tale of broken friendship. The wonderful image comes from a Flickr free-to-use website. The curtains (altered) are by Irene Alexeeva and the background by Lorie Davison.

The Three Muses Challenge - Art in the Round

Thanks to Bev for the great challenge! The image is from a free-to-use Flickr website and embellishments and background paper by Fiddlette, Scrapartist.

Mixed Media Monday - Blue and Brown - Starry Night

This is a combination of digital painting (in ArtRage software) and a old city skyline by Christina Renee. The picture was, of course, inspired by Van Gogh's Starry Night. Everything is greatly altered and I used a final "impressionist" filter to achieve the grainy result.

Sunday Postcard - Bingo

The lovely Terri Kahrs gave us this wonderful image to use and I just knew an opportunity would present itself.
