The Three Muses Challenge - Something old, something new

Apologies in advance to all those in the Northern Hemisphere who are FREEZING! Can't get away from the heat here in Oz.
I painted the background (beach huts Googled). The girl is an unclothed image from Maya at Scrapbookgraphics - dressed up and dressed down. I painted on the two swimsuits and used my background to take the two "photos". The waves in the photos are by Ruth Davis at E-Scape and Scrap.

  2. As beautifully thought out as it was created...what a great "old vs. new" presentation for this theme. Perhaps there is a middle road for the bathing suits??:))To think those olden days ones were generally made out of wool!! Yikes. Hugs and Happy New Year, Marie!

  4. I think the 2010 one for this morning then the 1910 suit for this afternoon, such a changeable day! Great take on the theme once again, Marie!! Do have a fabulous New Year!!! (I see Ann is coming to NZ, too)

  6. Great fun! Today in the UK it is cold, grey and miserable. It snowed last night but was all washed away by the rain this morning. How I would love to be in a bikini on the beach this morning!!

  7. I don't envy you those hot winds and hideously high temperatures, but wow Marie, if this is what it inspires you to create it can't be all bad. This is one of those of yours that made me catch my breath because it's mind blowingly fantastic. The colours are super, your painting talent just grows and grows and those ladies just go to show nothing much changes except the fashions. Thank you for brightening up a thoroughly weather miserable day in the UK.

  8. Great idea and beautifully done as usual Marie. I guess if I followed your advice here I'd turn off the central heating and go back to chopping wood.... Brrr. I do love the good old days, but modern times do have their advantages too... Happy New Year!

  11. Oh, how I'm longing for "beach" weather right now. Last night the thermometer in the car read that it was 12 degrees Farenheit. (Not sure how that would convert!?!) And the windchill was below O degrees! Thanks for reminding me about sunshine and warm seabreezes, Marie!!! Happy, Happy 2010! Hugs, Terri xoxo

  22. What a great piece, Marie, so cleverly made! And beautiful, too! Your quotation puts it so right: not everything was better in the old days. I wish you a Happy New Year! If I knew how to do it, I would send you a container full of snow and cold air from my back yard.

  29. I have been looking and looking and cannot find your top hat and tails postcard...I thought I saw it on someone's blog roll but for the life of me it doesn't show on your blog (to me, anyway). Not even in older posts...odd....sigh. Hugs, Gayle.

  30. I am having the same problem as Gayle. The Top Hat does not appear. I thought last night that you may have been in an edit mode and it wasn't showing for that reason. But I have tried several times more and it just isn't there. This 3 Muses post is your most recent one.

  35. I agree with you. It can bee too warm. Something in between my -10C and the temperature you are having in Oz would be perfect!
